“72 million Tree Planting in Celebration on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024”
On 19th July 2024 at 08:30, RTRDA participated in a tree-planting ceremony organized by the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), with Mr. Vithaya Punmongkol, Deputy Governor (Operations) acting Governor of MRTA, presiding over the event at the MRTA headquarters. The ceremony, part of the “Transportation Project to Plant Trees in Honour of His Majesty the King,” highlights the Ministry of Transport’s long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, ensuring that green spaces are restored and protected as a tribute to His Majesty the King. This initiative, which extends beyond His Majesty’s birthday anniversary, aims to plant and restore 72 million trees nationwide, symbolizing the King’s enduring legacy of sustainability and care for the natural environment.
The tree-planting ceremony took place at the entrance of MRTA’s main office, with senior executives and staff actively participating to demonstrate their dedication to environmental restoration.
The Ministry of Transport’s planting tree project was held to honour His Majesty the King on the auspicious occasion of his 6th cycle birthday anniversary on 28th July 2024, while also aiming to mitigate air pollution and promote a healthier, more sustainable environment.
